Utah Auto Auction
You can learn about the auctions in Utah through our resource.
If you’re wanting to buy a good deal on the previously owned vehicle, there’s an alternative to buying a used car through seedy looking car salesman, or through a new car dealership or classifieds.
It was once that auctions had been primarily “insider-only” events offered to buyers representing dealerships and so forth. The cars would be bought below wholesale, then resold from full mark-up to the end customer.
However, it’s now really common for vehicle auctions being open to general audiences. Some are performed by federal, express, or local governments losing former fleet (and resource forfeiture) vehicles. Additional auctions are operated by private owners and even charities like Goodwill.
There can also be online auctions, eBay Motors being usually the one most people incorporate some familiarity with.
Tips for Buying at Any Auto Auction
1. Get there early, if inventory is available for a preview showing go a few days early.
2. Run a carfax if available. This report is instant and can be worth the $20. It can save you tons of cash if you find out it was in an accident, and will be great in the long run.
